For instance, you can go to the Brokerage area of our own Traders' Resource pages and go through the individual brokers until you find a combination of price and service that suits your style of trading... Thanks! There were a bunch of brokerages that I've never even considered or knew even existed...

What's the average commission for trades?
What is the average price that the brokerages charge for making a trade? I'm interested in maybe 10-30 trades per month. Discount or Full service, I don't care as long they are reliable. Is $10 per trade good?

One thing to watch for with 529 plans is that they are counted as an asset, when applying for financial aid, if they are owned by the parents or the student applying for aid. One workaround is to have a grandparent open the 529 account. Then it will not be counted as an asset and will not affect el...

There are 529 plans that looked real interesting. In WA state there is GET (Guaranteed Education Tuition) program that allows you to prepay future tuition at current prices (plus a premium of course). This looks good right now since the state school's tuition has been rising at a pretty fast pace.
