The rupee rises to a near one-week high on capital inflow
hopes as local stocks make strong gains. Rupee rises to
54.8050, highest since December 20; currently at
54.84/8450 versus 54.95/96 Monday closes. The BSE
Sensex is up nearly 1 percent.
