Gold futures declined for a third straight day

Gold futures declined for a third straight day as gains in equities curb demand for the precious metal as an alternative investment. Silver futures for July delivery fell 1.1 percent $19.138 an ounce in New York. West Texas Intermediate crude dropped with supplies at a seasonal record high and as the euro slipped against the dollar. Natural gas futures fell the most in 10 weeks after a government report showed a bigger-than-forecast U.S. inventory increase.
