Sensex holds on to solid gains...Nifty near 5350

The key Indian stock indices extended gains after a higher opening, with the NSE Nifty crossing the 5,300 milestone and the BSE Sensex surpassing the 17,500 mark. Both the main indices are up ~0.5% each. The broader indices too are up modestly, leading to a favourable breadth for the overall market.
