BSE Metal Index gained 0.97 per cent, the BSE Auto Index rose 0.50 per cent and the BSE Oil & Gas Index gained 0.44 per cent.

Shares of major metal companies closed with gains of over a one per cent following ECB commentary and after the Chinese government announced $150 billion for their infrastructure sector.
