Epic Update: The BSE Sensex

The BSE Sensex gains 0.54 percent while the Nifty is up 0.56 percent.
Oil companies were leading the gains after the Economic Times reported the petroleum ministry had proposed a gradual rise in diesel prices, by 1 rupee a litre every month over a 10-month period.
