The Nifty closed at 5,358.70, up 16.60 points or 0.31 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 5,366.30 and a low of 5,343.45.
The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.51 per cent and the BSE Smallcap Index moved up 0.63 per cent.
